American Indian Warrior Association
MONTHLY MINUTES

November 6, 2013

This evening AIWA President William Buchanan opened the meeting at 7:00pm with a purification blessing. There were lots of yummy choices: orange chicken, pepperoni pizza and bottled H2O. Attending were Heather Charlot, Juan del Rio, Roy Cook, Ron Bonnin, Ozzie Monje and Joaquin Sandoval. We continued with business talk about the issues of AIWA organization and upcoming events.

Old Business:

1. Recruitment produced Heather Charlot, Navaho USN.

2. M/S/P reimburse RC for cash advance to SE Vickie Gambala.

3. JS will purchase fleece service blankets for tribute.

Fall is Veterans pow wow time and the AIWA Warriors continue to participate in local opportunities such those at Pala Sleeping Warrior pow wow and the Soaring Eagle Tribute to Veterans.

New business:

1. Heather C is organizing a NDN event on the USS Dewey.

2. Return of the AIWA Xmas dinner in December possibly in conjunction with the TONKAWA club - details TBA.

Round Robin continues to be a healthy venue to air and share veteran concerns with comrades in arms with a tribal flavor. Finally, AIWA welcomes our local and Tribal involvements and our mission to continue to be of service to the community and look forward to positive ideas for our future months’ meetings.

AIWA President William Buchanan closed the meeting with a prayer for health and safe travels at 8:28pm.

Finally, AIWA welcomes our local and Tribal involvements and our mission to continue to be of service to the community and look forward to positive ideas for our future months’ meetings.

Respectfully submitted:
