Minutes resubmitted after review: Meeting called to order at 7:10 pm by President William Buchanan. Present: William Buchanan, Joaquin Sandoval, Ron Bonnin, Juan del Rio Guests: Ivan Sam, Maria Rodriguez Callejas, Blanka Knox Excused Absence: Roy Cook, Larry S., Lizbeth Quiroz
William starting with purification with sage to the members and guests present.
Introduction of Guest: Mari Rodriguez Callejas & daughter Blanka Knox; Maria is a staff member of the LINKS & Life Skills Program Trainer at Marine Corps Family Team Building for the 12th Marine Corps District at 3704 Hochmuth Ave. Bldg. 8, San Diego, CA 92140-5191. Maria stated that she is involved with PTSD therapies. Ivan talked about the Indian way of dealing with PTSD that lasts days of intense therapy based on the cycle of the rising of sun and the setting of the sun. Maria will attend next months AIWA meeting. Lizbeth Quiroz sent apologies via email, for not attending due to last minute commitment but will attend next months AIWA meeting. New business: Ron spoke about the VFW's Veteran Day Parade on November 11th in Lakeside located at 12650 Lindo Lane, followed by an Italian meal at the VFW Hall from 5 to 7pm
Ivan offered his craftsmanship of gourd dance regalia for sale to help in his need to meet some family financial difficulties.
Meeting adjourned at about 9pm. Submitted by Juan del Rio Finally, we mentioned
the Native American Film Festival to be held at UC San Marcos in November.
