PLEASE BRING YOUR COPY OF MINUTES TO MEETING
The location of all AIWA meetings is at 3928 Illinois St. San Diego, CA. Many Nations in Recovery facility. Chet A. Hunt Community Center. AIWA is welcome to utilize the facilities in a respectful manner. (It is two blocks east of 30th St. and one-half block North of University Ave. on the west side of the street.)

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Vice President Larry Smith at approximately 7:00.p.m. Prayer was given by Roy Cook.

OFFICERS REPORTS:
President: Warren Bader- Not present, awaiting further orders from the military.
Vice President: Larry Smith- Present. He reported that AIWA President Warren Bader was activated two days prior to retirement and asked Ronnie Whitehorse for further information.
Secretary: Joaquin Sandoval –Present. Minutes were read from previous meeting and approved as corrected.. Gave a short report on community events.
Treasurer: Jerry Wilkerson –Present. Treasures report was read. 16 members paid dues.
Sergeant at Arms: Storme Silvercloud – Not Present.
Historian: Roy Cook – Present.

OLD BUSINESS:
Sheryl Wilkerson talked about fundraising. She suggested selling pies and coffee at the Pow Wows, beginning with the Grossmont Pow Wow. It was decided that Ronnie Whitehorse would speak to San Diego State representatives about their Pow Wow and Roy Cook would speak to Grossmont about theirs. There was discussion about recruiting at the Pow Wows. Larry Smith and Ida lemay will follow up on thThere was discussion on the California Indian Education Conference. The date is from April 11th to the 14th. The time is not known yet. We are to do the honor guard.

NEW BUSINESS:
Yolanda Fortuna, from the VA Hospital, clarified that there is no emergency room at the hospital. That is why veterans are taken to other hospitals in emergencies. But the VA will generally pay the cost. Roy Cook thanked everyone who brought pot-luck dishes . He reminded people to go to Balboa Park’s display of Native American Veterans and that we should select a Saturday to have a potluck or meal there in support. A vote of confidence was called and past from the AIWA membership regarding the Indian Human Resource Center for all its help to us and other organizations in the community. The parade banner has been returned by Flea to be cared for by the secretary. Ron Hawkins e-mailed that he would bring in the flags. A vote was taken and passed to reimburse Sheryl Wilkerson for any money spent on the supplies for the pies. Secretary Joaquin Sandoval presented past President Roy Cook a gift on behalf of the members of AIWA.
