The location of all AIWA meetings is at 3928 Illinois St. San Diego, CA. Many Nations in Recovery facility. Chet A. Hunt Community Center. AIWA is welcome to utilize the facilities in a respectful manner. (It is two blocks east of 30th St. and one-half block North of University Ave. on the west side of the street.)

AIWA MONTHLY MINUTES FOR SEPT MEETING

POTLUCK

Potluck began at 06:30. Hot tamales, Chicken, hamburger paddies, corn chips, watermelon and ‘sugar free guilt’ donuts. All very tasty with good hot coffee to wash it all down.

CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order at 07:00 September 7, 2006 by President Ronnie Murphy. Don Vigneualt gave a blessedly short Prayer.

OFFICERS REPORTS

President: Ronnie Murphy - Present.

Treasurer: not Present.

Master at Arms: not Present

Event Coordinator: Joaquin Sandoval - Present

OLD BUSINESS-

Don V. reminded the membership of the Many Nations in recovery facility services. Roy C added the role of Co-AIWA founder Chet Hunt and the Many Nations community room.

Ron Hawkins (welcome back!) brought in a certificate of appreciation from USMC Camp Pendleton for the past May presentation. He also brought in some past correspondence dealing with the State of California incorporation and possibly assorted 501c3 data.

NEW BUSINESS-

Don V. introduced a request by Indian Education, Vickie Gambala for $150.00. This is for very needy family children’s clothes and shoes. M/S/P Don V., Jerry S. AIWA membership.

Visitor/guest Henry Keith, Dine from NM related about his past two tours in Iraq- Navy medic serving with the USMC. He is really looking forward to getting back home.

ROUND ROBIN-

Don – Nothing new but he did have some words of wisdom to share.

Ivan- Dine, Navy - retires the F-14 Tomcat.

Henry K. Relate more about Iraq: familiar homes, food, sheep and tribal nature of many of the people.

Henry M. Thanked Ronnie for the flowers he sent to his wife Pam. She has been going through some health issues- Kidney stones. He and Ronnie participated in the gourd dance at Barona.

Joaquin- Distributed notice of the VVSD ribbon cutting ceremony this Friday at 2 pm. 4141 Pacific Hwy SD, CA. He kept talking but I don’t think anyone knew or cared what he was chuckling about!

Roy- reminded the membership of our responsibility to man the refreshment table at the Indian Education Halloween party. All are welcome to attend.
