AIWA REVIEW FOR JUNE 6, 2007 MEETING

Potluck: Lima bean soup with smoked ham hocks, homemade corn bread, raw green vegetables with dip, baked chicken, pan dulce, do nuts, hot coffee and warm camaraderie.

Blessing: Don Vigenault

Reflecting the message and wisdom of the blessing I found inspiration to restructure this meeting in a more traditional American Indian context. The people come first and as AIWA officers and leaders we plan and direct with the consent of the group. The time seems right to bring back the Round Robin and ask the AIWA membership to voice their views. I’ll identify them only by their initials:

GH and his wife are off on vacation, again. They will be going to Ada, Oklahoma next month for a Boy Scout jamboree. They also intend to visit historical sites in Texas. He also gave the AIWA treasurers report reflecting our financial activities last month we did well.

JS is still having problems with his ‘big’ feet and will be out of action regarding Honor Guard assignments for the near future.

DV was concerned with the tone of the E-mails and has been having problems with his trouht and he has also lost 8 lbs, which is not good.

IH and her partner in crime are still hard at it working on the 3 bedrooms, 3.46 acres near Jamul they are remodeling and juggling the work schedules at the airport.

JS took the time to clarify the AIWA State of CA papers we have been curious about. He apologized for the E-mail fuss. He attended the Wounded Warrior conference and met Senator Dole, WW II Disabled Veteran.

RC was a good Indian and ate everything in sight!

AIWA Honor Color Guard is invited to participate at the Imperial Beach Pow wow, June 16, 17, 2007. Ben ‘TJ” Wolf is the Head Gourd Dancer. Red Warriors are the Southern Singers.

AIWA meeting adjourned: 8:15pm respectfully submitted, Roy Cook
