This evening AIWA President William Buchanan opened the meeting at 7:05pm with lots of tacitos sabrositos with guacamole, salsa red or green. We continued with business talk about the issues of AIWA organization, crafts and events. Juan del Rio reported that he was pleased with the weekend craft class Joaquin S. reportedly was sick and not in attendance. Other members were UA or in classes or studying. VAHC minority representative Barbra Pepi sent in some gifts for the troops. They were well appreciated.

Old Business:

1. Recruitment and networking with other Veteran groups.

2. Our crafts class 9/29/13 at 10 am was held at the Lake Murray location.

Autumn is pow wow time and the AIWA Warriors continue to participate in local opportunities such those sent to the membership by Email.

New business:

1. Added regalia for image enhancement; hats, more gourd dance gear.

2. Return of smudging, prayer and role of the medicine botanicals and role of the cardinal directions in selected tribes.

3. Approval of proposed Veterans tribute at Soaring Eagles on November 13, 2013. That evenings agenda is in process.
